Michael O. Walsh, 88, of Shelton, husband of the late Mary Lou Flaherty Walsh, died Jan. 8, at Griffin Hospital.
Born Sept. 9, 1927 in Belmullet, County Mayo, Ireland, son of the late Anthony and Annie Reilly Walsh; U.S. Army, Korean War. Before his retirement, he operated many businesses and was a self-made man.
Survivors include his children, Tim Walsh and his wife, Teresa, of Westport; Jeanne Scarpone and Linda A. Walsh, both of Shelton; Dianne Jewell and her husband, Jeff, of Norwalk; Megan Hogan and her husband, Philip, of Fairfield; and Susan Walsh, of Shelton; a brother, Thomas Walsh of Ireland, and 10 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Services: Wednesday, Jan. 13, 9:30 a.m., Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Visiting hours: Tuesday, 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
