Harvey Jaffer, 72, of Bonita Springs, FL and formerly of Shelton, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 14th, 2015.
Harvey was born on September 5, 1942 in St. Louis, MO to the late Nat and Katherine Jaffer.
Harvey leaves behind his beloved wife of 32 years, Margaret; his 3 children, Tara Grenier and her husband Bob of Gilbert, AZ, Nathan Jaffer and his wife Theresa of North Grafton, MA, and Katelyn Jaffer of Shelton, CT; and his 4 cherished grandsons, Tyler & Trevor Grenier, and Eliot and Nicholas Jaffer. He leaves his sister Doreen Polunsky of Dallas, TX, his brother Maury Jaffer of Dallas, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Hillcrest High School in Dallas, TX, Harvey joined the United States Marine Corps. After completing his duty he went on to graduate from the University of North Texas.
Harvey had a long, successful career and retired as Vice President of Sales for United States Tobacco Co. (UST) after 30 years of doing a job he loved.
In addition to being his kids’ #1 fan at all times, Harvey could be found on the dance floor with his dancing partner for life, Margaret, whittling something amazing out of a block of wood, or puttering around his workshop doing projects around the house. Harvey also loved all things outdoors whether it was playing a round of golf, hunting with his favorite hunting buddy, Nate, or even working in the yard. Harvey lived his life to the fullest with no regrets and he has passed that legacy on to his family and friends.
The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Harvey.
Condolences may be left to the family at www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
