Anna (D’Emidio) D’Attilo, 51, of Shelton, secretary, wife of Salvatore D’Attilo, died Aug. 12, in Norwalk, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.

Born Oct. 7, 1964 in Pescara, Italy, daughter of Gravino and Palmina (Orsini) D’Emidio.

Besides her husband and parents, survivors include daughters, Alessandra and Marcella, twin sister, Ivana DiFederico and her husband, Gabriele, sister, Patrizia Somma and her husband, Antonio, and many nieces, nephews and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Visiting hours: Tuesday, Aug. 16, 5-8 p.m., Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. Services: Wednesday, 10 a.m., St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Entombment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.

Gwendolyn B. Hoyt, 89, of Seymour, homemaker, volunteer, wife of Franklin A. Hoyt, died Aug. 11, at Griffin Hospital.

Born in Seymour on Dec. 19, 1926, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Shaw Benham.

Also survived by daughter, Pamela H. Waldron of Seymour, daughter-in-law, Alexandra Hoyt of Montana, nine grandchildren, brother, Milton (Vivian) Benham of Shelton and 14 great-grandchildren.

Also predeceased by son, Wayne Franklin Hoyt and her sister, Bernadine (Harold) Hickman.

Services: Saturday, Aug. 20, noon, Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour.  Visiting hours: Saturday, 10 a.m. until time of service.

Kenneth Joseph Ludwig, 72, of Shelton, retired from IBM, died Aug. 9, after a long illness in CT Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of Carole (Walker) Ludwig for 22 years.

Born in Columbia, S.C. on Sept. 27, 1943, son of Nicholas and Lillian Kennedy Ludwig of Fairfield; U.S. Air Force, Vietnam War. After the Air Force, he married Lucille Mintkenbaugh and lived in Wilmington, N.C.

He also is survived by children, Susan (Dean) Ludwig Harrell of Newtown, and Mark (Ingrid) Ludwig of Miami, stepchildren, Wendy (Mike) Audet of Newtown, and Shani (Gavin) Magurie of Chicago, six grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, many nieces and nephews, siblings, Catherine Donleycott of Raleigh, N.C., Stephen (Joanne) Ludwig of East Haven, Lorraine (Bob) of Westervelt of Fairfield, Philip (Nubia) Ludwig of Stratford.

Also predeceased by brother, Paul Ludwig, and sister, Eileen Ludwig.

Frank P. Pagano, 83, of Shelton, route salesman for Continental Baking Company, member of the Shelton Board of Alderman, and Shelton Republican Registrar of Voters, husband of Betty (Repka) Pagano, died Aug. 22.

Born in Shelton on March 3, 1933, son of the late Fred and Sophie (Karpiuk) Pagano.

Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Edward Pagano (Linda), of Ansonia, and daughter Paula Bonfiglio (Joseph) of Shelton, nine grandchildren, a brother, Fred Pagano of Shelton, and a sister, Helen Pagano of Ocala, Fla., many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Also predeceased by his son, Frank Pagano, Jr. and a grandson.

Charles A. Vlodek, 59, employed as a quality control inspector at Sikorsky Aircraft, worked at Kaman Aerospace, husband of the late Kathryn Jordan Vlodek, died Aug. 18, at home.

Born in Bridgeport on June 13, 1957, son of Charles W. and Sophie “Wanda” Tyszka Vlodek of Shelton.

Besides his parents, he is survived by brothers, Thomas Vlodek and Paul Vlodek (Joanna) of Shelton, sister, Marianne Vass of Stratford, a niece, and many cousins and friends.

Born in Bridgeport on April 29, 1923, daughter of the late Earnest and Eliza (Raabe) Bailey. Survived by children, John Kelly (Yolande), and Charles L. Kelly, III, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Also predeceased by daughter-in-law, Dolores Kelly, three brothers, Earnest, Clifford, and Percy Bailey, and three sisters, Evelyn Kloster, Betty Bernerd, and Mildred Malasky.

Born in Arcos, Montelegre, Portugal on April 17, 1925, daughter of the late Joaquim Barroso Martins and Cristina Raphael.

Also survived by her children, Manuel Barroso Martins and his wife, Eliza of France, Palmeira Martins of Portugal, Cristina Barroso Martins and her husband, Licinio Goncalves of France, Antonia Barroso Bernardo and her husband, Antonio of France and Isabel Barroso Dias and her husband, Pedro Cipriano of Shelton, 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Norma Elizabeth Hulford Robinson, 82, of Monroe, dictaphone operator, cafeteria worker and housewife, wife of the late Lawrence Robinson, died Aug. 21, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a courageous battle with esophagus cancer and COPD.

Born in Bridgeport, on Feb. 18, 1934, daughter of the late John “Jack” Hulford and Margaret Mikula Hulford.

Also predeceased by brother, Jackie Hulford.

Survivors include four children, Thomas Robinson and wife, Maria of Seymour, Donna Poulin and husband, Mark of Shelton, Larry Robinson and wife, Sabrina of Shelton, John Robinson of Charlottesville, Va. and seven grandchildren.

Wallace P. Kerrigan, 93, of Shelton, formerly of Stratford, retired manufacturing engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft, died Aug. 27, in the Hewitt Memorial Nursing Facility, Shelton.

Born April 27, 1923, in Bridgeport, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Miller) Kerrigan; U.S. Army veteran of World War II.  

Survivors include four children, Wallace Kerrigan II and his wife, Rena of Oxford, Colleen Soldi and her husband, Jack of Milford, Deborah Kerrigan of Stratford and Joseph Kerrigan of Shelton, seven grandchildren, brother, George Kerrigan and many nieces and nephews.

Also predeceased by five siblings, Dorothy Dickneider, Charles Kerrigan, Robert Kerrigan, Shirley Robinson and Margaret Gill and his dog.

Services: Tuesday, Aug. 30, 7 p.m., William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. Visiting hours: Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. Burial will be Friday, Sept. 2, 11 a.m., Union Cemetery.

William R. Harkins Jr., 81, of Ansonia, owned and operated Bill’s Hobby Lobby of Ansonia and the Collector’s Paradise of Derby, husband of Nancy L. Beaver Harkins, died Aug. 24, at home.

Born in Derby on April 28, 1935, son of the late William R. Harkins Sr. and Edith Gittings Harkins; U.S. Navy, Korean War.

Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters, Tracy Hara and her husband, Thomas of Morris, Carrie Chapin of Watertown, and Sherry Nash and her husband, Gary of Shelton, five grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Also predeceased by a brother, Robert Harkins and a sister, Jane Harkins.

Services: Friday, Sept. 9, 7 p.m., Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Visiting hours: Friday, 4-7 p.m., prior to the service.

Henry J. “Hank” Wardowski Sr., 73, of Seymour, retired postman from the Seymour Post Office, died Sept. 1, at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; he was married to Gail (Hannon) Wardowski.

Born Dec. 23, 1942, son of the late Henry W. and Frances (Czhaka) Wardowski.

Survived by sons, Henry Wardowski Jr. of Southbury, John Wardowski of Shelton, and Thomas Wardowski of Seymour; a sister, Carol Lombardi of Oxford, and two grandchildren.

Calling hours were held Monday, Sept. 5, 5-7 p.m., Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. Services: Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, and 10 a.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Burial: St. Augustine Cemetery.

Born in New York, New York on July 15, 1938, daughter of the late Paul and Clara Vollmer Mahony.

Also predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Hunter.

Survivors include children, Jeanne Bodyk and her husband Frederick of Shelton, Daniel Hunter and his wife Sharon of Shelton, Christine Hunter of Manhattan, Peg Levine and her husband Steven of Shelton, Lt. Col. (Select) Kevin Hunter and his wife Jennifer of Burke, Va., 10 grandchildren, a brother, Paul Mahony and his wife Regina of Hatboro, Pa., and many nieces and nephews.

Services: Friday, Sept. 9, 9:30 a.m., Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Visiting hours: Thursday, Sept. 8, 4-7.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, George Pastorok, III of Southbury, Garry Pastorok of Stamford, and Gregory Pastorok of Milford, eight grandchildren, and a a sister, June Matyjasik of Shelton.

Also predeceased by brothers, Tony and Robert DeLucia, a brother-in-law Chester Matyjasik, and a nephew, John Paul Matyjasik.

Besides his parents, survivors include a brother, Michael J. Moscato III of Naugatuck, a sister, Rebecca Moscato of Beacon Falls, paternal grandparents, Michael and Virginia Mangone Moscato of Shelton, a niece, godparents, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his three dogs.

Predeceased by maternal grandparents, Albert and Dorothy Hammond Niquette, aunts, Brenda Tanuis and Barbara Niquette and cousin, Amber Kingersky.

Robert Edward “Bob” Ritter, 78, of Derby, retired auto technician from Fitzpatrick’s and City Auto Body, husband of Charlotte Westfall Ritter, died Sept. 3.

Born on Aug. 19, 1938, in Derby, raised in Shelton, son of the late Herman Henry and Anna (Kassheimer) Ritter; U.S. Army Reserves.

Besides his wife survivors include his children, Scott (Tracy) Ritter, Randy Ritter, Kent (Tracey) Ritter and the late Jamie Ritter, grandchildren, Carrie, Samira, Marisa, Skylar and Molly Ritter, Katie (Chris) Walters, Shelby Garofalo and Nicole (Mike) Gerwien; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Colton and Joshua, sisters-in-law, Marylin Tyrol, Eileen Acampora and Darlisa Ritter, and many nieces and nephews, siblings Francis Ritter, Gertrude Williams and Cathy Boanno.

Alfred R. Bertoldi, 89, of Shelton, formerly of Trumbull, director of building engineering for Northbrook Management Corp., husband of the late Jeannette Piccola Bertoldi, died Sept. 7, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born in Yonkers, New York on Feb. 19, 1927, son of the late Simplizio Bertoldi and Immaculata Lombardi Bertoldi.

Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Gibb and her husband, James of Little Egg Harbor, N.J. and Jeannette Davidson and her husband, Jim of Shelton, formerly of Trumbull, three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Also predeceased by sister, Genevieve Bertoldi Kouten and brother, Vincent “Jimmy” Bertoldi.

Briggs and her husband, Mark of Maryland, and Patricia A. Herwig and her husband, Gary of Maryland, sisters, Rose Soncaratoon and Olga Draus both of Shelton, grandson, Nicholas M. Briggs of Maryland and several nieces and nephews.
